Venture Capital bubble and Seed-Stage investments

Below is a graph showing the total annual amount of venture capital investment made into companies per year from 1995 to 2011 segmented by the stage of investment.

It is clear from this chart that the VC industry supports the 'expansion' stage of investment more than the 'seed' stage.

The peak, or bubble, in Venture Capital investments in 2000 coincides with the tech bubble in the NASDAQ at the same time.
