Keep it up Gambian children

Gambian children are a valuable asset to the nation, since they always contribute immensely towards the socio economic development of the country.

Celebration of World Children’s Prize Day for the right of the child recently held at the Child Protection Alliance office is a clear manifestation of the children of The Gambia’s commitment in advocating for the rights and protection of children.

For this year, the Gambia participated in the programme and 70 schools in the country supported the Prize.

Over the years, Gambian children have been participating in various international forums, and they have been doing extremely well. They have received international awards for the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting on two occasions in New York.

The World Child Prize is a unique educational programme for children promoting a more humane world.

We would like to commend the Child Protection Alliance and the voice of the young and the youth organizations in the country for their stand in advocating the rights of the child in The Gambia.

UNICEF and the Gambia government should also be commended for giving the enabling environment for creating a child-friendly Gambia.
