First Follower Journal: Finding Your Niche

First Follower Journal: Finding Your Niche

This past week, our company hosted its first webinar on growing entrepreneurial companies. The majority of feedback we received was positive, with a few people siting areas for improvement. Some of this feedback was directly helpful and we can use it to improve future webinars. But some of the feedback led Linda and I to think that not everyone who attended understood what ECO does and who we serve. I think this is in part because we don’t fit into the same approach as other entrepreneur social networking sites.

When Linda and I look at the entrepreneur market, we see the government and non-profit organizations that serve a very specific entrepreneurial market. High-tech startups in Silicon Valley. Bioscience in Colorado. Growing fashion industry entrepreneurs in Paris. A vast majority of entrepreneurs around the world are under-supported and under-served in terms of business coaching, social networking training and funding options. This is where we knew that ECO could add the most value to the most entrepreneurs.

We are finding that some entrepreneurs we talk with don’t need any help. They have entrepreneurial experience, funding, etc. That’s wonderful. We are glad to see them succeed. But for the hundreds of entrepreneurs just down the road from them who are struggling to move forward, we say: Welcome!
